The new HD Rectangular nesting engine nests rectangular parts more efficiently than ever before. On average, you’ll see a 3% increase in yield compared to the standard Rectangular nesting engine.

Nests rectangular parts similarly to the Rectangular algorithm, but for right-angle (Lshape) shearing machines.

The HD TrueShape algorithm nests on a part-by-part basis, based on the specified Part Order. It also applies an advanced part fitting algorithm, which yields superior nesting results. HD TrueShape is one of two nesting engines to support true, no grain nesting

HD SuperNest is a time-based nesting engine that continuously nests and renests parts until the yield cannot be improved within the set time interval.
For example, if the selected time interval is 30 seconds, SigmaNEST will immediately create a nest and then begin trying other nest configurations. If it can find a better nest within 30 seconds, the better nest is accepted and the timer resets back to 30 seconds. If it can find an even better nest, then that nest is accepted, and the timer resets again. This continues until SigmaNEST can no longer increase the yield within the given 30 second interval.

Use the Continuous Nesting Parameters to control grouping by work orders and crop types.
Use the Group By Work Order list to nest parts based on their work orders. You can choose from the following options:
1. Do Not Group By Work Orders. Allows parts from different work orders to be mixed, and does not nest based on work orders.
2. Group Work Orders. Parts with the same work order are grouped together when nested on the same sheet.
3. Do Not Mix Work Orders. Parts with the same work order are grouped together, and cannot be mixed with parts from different work orders. If this option is selected, you must also specify the Group Separation Crop Type, Spacing, and Minimum Strip Width.

All-new 3D unfolder that gives appropriate flat part patterns based on unfolding conditions. The 3D unfolder is K-factor based, which yields better cut accuracy. It is material-specific, using calculations formulated by our team of expert engineers. Other notable features include its ability to unfold beveled, formed, or milled parts and automatically recognize bends.

The Develop Unfolder is a standalone application that can be purchase with SigmaNEST X1 SP1. The unfolder module allows users to import, view, and unfold part in 3D. This technology allows you to create 3D shapes inside SigmaNEST SX and unfold them. The 3D unfolder comes with a library of 150 unique shapes organized by category. This will save time when a user is looking for a common part.

The Auto NC window is where you set parameters that will be used when SigmaNEST automatically applies toolpath. These settings are stored by machine, material, and thickness, so whenever you set your parameters as default, they will be loaded again for the next task of the same machine, material, and thickness.

With dynamic nesting, programmers can place a number of dissimilar parts on one nest. This allows them to mix and match orders to take full advantage of the material and thicknesses being cut. Programmers often use common-line cutting with dynamic nesting. They balance maximum material utilization with the need to not nest too far ahead on the schedule, to ensure efficient part flow and minimize work-in-process (WIP) downstream. Maximizing material usage is great, but not at the expense of excess WIP.

When driving a car, you have to slow down to go around a sharp corner. If the corner is made wider, you can move faster. Curvy Rapids™ creates arcs to take the sharpness out of your corners.

Curvy Rapids™ works great with the newest machines, such as fiber lasers with very high axis speed and acceleration. It can reduce processing time by keeping the machine constantly moving on material / thickness that can be pierced on the fly, which means that the machine may not even need to stop moving. Laser Destruct is a programming technique which makes systematic cuts to keep internal contours from tipping up and causing the laser head to crash. Laser Destruct will cut a large internal contour into smaller pieces that can easily fall through the slats of the machine bed. Otherwise, the cut parts could potentially impede the laser. If during rapid movement interference happens, the machine must be stopped, causing wasted time as well as damage to the part and potentially to the machine. Additionally, using this technique eliminates the need to tab internal contours, preventing additional processes and extra manual labor.

SigmaNEST offers an integration to cut with better Bolt Hole Quality. This is essential for plasma machines, which have always had issues with hole taper and blowout. SigmaNEST combats this with the advanced programming of BHQ which automatically adjusts gas pressures, plasma amperage, height control, kerf diameter, and shield gas control to deliver precision cylindrical holes. The result of this programming is minimal taper, gouging, and better surface quality to eliminate secondary clean-up and accelerate production

The SigmaNEST Job Tracking and Scheduling module provides solutions to many typical issues found in job shops and manufacturers by helping to streamline the fabrication process with information, graphics screens, and specific part status feedback.

As soon as a quote has been placed and accepted, the information in the quote can be converted directly into a SigmaNEST work order. No more re-entering data! Once a work order is created, the parts can be easily managed in SigmaNEST and can even be combined with other work orders to increase processing efficiency.”
