SigmaNEST works for a variety of tools, raw materials, and machines. Among them is what can be one of the trickiest materials, wood. It’s not just a type of wood you take into consideration but also thickness and grain. SigmaNEST Router is an excellent tool for wood fabricators in the boating, upholstered furniture, ship building, and cabinetry sectors.
Three important features of SigmaNEST for any wood workers include the following:
Small Part Handling
Small part handling is essential as they are easier to damage in the cutting process. When using this feature in SigmaNEST, parts under 8 inches are provided more part-to-part spacing. This provides more skeleton to hold the piece in place, reducing the likelihood of damage to the part. In addition, if you want even more of margin around the small part, they can be manually manipulated after the nest has been created.
This important feature provides you with a higher quality part. Stability Sequencing moves the lead-in on the nested parts away from previously made cuts. In addition to a better cut, it provides less router movement which means less time spent expediting the work order.
Small Parts – First Priority
Using Small Part Handling and Stability Sequencing in conjunction, you have the option to cut small parts first under the feature NC Small Parts First. The vacuum on your machine will stop the movement of the part and cutting the small parts first provides a higher quality execution of the part.
