This algorithm is best for those who cut rectangular parts. When using this option, SigmaNEST draws the smallest possible rectangular box around each part and nests them as close together as possible, with room for part clearance.
TRUESHAPE, ADVANCED TRUESHAPE, & HD TRUESHAPE PLUS
These three are good all-around nesting engines. The simplest of the three, TrueShape is purely based on part contour, and finding the best nest for all parts. Advanced TrueShape is cluster-based, meaning that it finds groups of parts that nest well together and repeats those groups across the nest. HD TrueShape Plus combines the best features of both TrueShape algorithms (sometimes by a single part, sometimes by cluster) and sorts through different settings to achieve the optimal nest.
SigmaNEST’s only time-based algorithm, HD SuperNest is designed to create the best yield possible within a specific time frame. As the engine produces better nests, the timer will reset and repeat itself until the highest yield is achieved or you manually accept the yield. This option is good for composites and other expensive materials, where material usage is your top priority.
Once you choose your nesting engine, SigmaNEST offers multiple customization features, such as part priority, number of tries, and lookahead factor. With these options, you can choose the nesting method that is best for each individual work order.
