Let’s face it, we’re not sure upgrading our software every time a new version comes out is worth it. When trying to decide, there’s usually a phase of comparing and contrasting between the old and new versions. When it comes to nesting software, this scenario is no different.
Just like many of us maintain smartphones until long after their prime, it makes sense that this would also be applied to job software. We wait until we are forced to upgrade, just to find out the newest software really was worth it.
While it can be a challenge to decide what’s worth spending more money on, staying up-to-date on your nesting software solution is essential for many reasons.
- Existing defects are fixed to provide a better nesting experience for our customers.
- Customer feedback on current software sparks updates and new features.
- The software can be used to its maximum potential.
- Computer and software compatibility.
Are you still using Windows XP?
As our software advances, so does our compatibility. Windows 8 or 10 will only run our newest versions, as Microsoft’s upgrade from XP to Windows 8 and 10, significantly impacted the compatibility of versions SigmaNEST V7 or earlier. Make sure your computers are as up to date as your software so that you don’t encounter any unnecessary problems associated with compatibility.
If you are still using old SigmaNEST software, you are not taking full advantage of our continuous improvements. With bug fixes, better nesting algorithms, and more user-friendly updates, it only makes sense to maintain our current software versions.
