Ease of use, increased production, and consistent time and material savings; these have all been the focus for SigmaTUBE since the software’s inception. However, something which we didn’t focus on has become a unanimous hit with our customers, and that is SigmaTUBE’s tight integration with SolidWorks.
SigmaTUBE for Laser and Plasma Tube and Pipe Cutting
Many of our tube-cutting customers had seen the benefit of the faster programming time, along with an increase of machine speeds. However, they didn’t expect the SolidWorks integration to become such a hit among their programmers. The previous process of having two separate programs for design and programming, created a strain on engineering time that resulted in machine downtime. Now a programmer can make changes to a part in the middle of a nest without involving engineering. This has allowed engineering to focus on what they do best while increasing machine run-time. The result: a measurable spike in productivity and much higher output. Similarly SigmaTUBE users who design in other platforms are still able to import directly into SolidWorks to perform design changes and programming in a single step.
Our goal has always been one to increase production. However, the way we accomplish this comes in many forms. We always focus on faster and more efficient programming, accelerated cutting cycles and higher efficiencies. Though sometimes something as simple as the ability to adjust drawings can have a surprising impact.
