SigmaTEK Connect Now in Beta Testing

SigmaTEK ConnectSigmaTEK Systems will soon be rolling out SigmaTEK Connect, the ultimate resource for customers, partners and resellers. SigmaTEK Connect is an online portal that offers access to useful information and tools. Unlike a typical website, SigmaTEK Connect will provide the unique ability to interact while learning about products, features and tools.

SigmaTEK Connect will enable you to personalize a profile: upload a profile picture and update details about your position. You will also be able to update information on your company's specific production machine types and processes which will enable you to receive customized support and tailored discussion when dealing with a SigmaTEK representative. Once you have completed the set-up process and personalized your page, you will have free reign to get the information you need when you need it.

Customers will be given the ability to use tools such as the ROI calculator to calculate potential material savings. In addition you will be able to download case studies, SigmaNEWS articles, and specific SigmaNEST documentation. Within the Support tab, a helpdesk ticket/notification system will exist giving registered users the ability to submit or check the status of a particular support issue.

Tech Tip and Updates: Cut-to-Length

Screen SchotThe Cut-to-Length (CTL) feature found in SigmaNEST is a very valuable tool for facilities making linear cuts (tube, pipe, IBeam), repeatedly. Similar to nesting, if there are different lengths of linear parts needed, there is an optimum cut order to eliminate unnecessary waste. SigmaNEST will automatically calculate the best cut plan with minimal user interaction.

Other Cut-to-Length features have been added with the release of SigmaNEST SP5:

  • The work order edit screen can now be found under the Cut-to-Length tab from where the user can now add 'CTL Parts.' This allows for a more user-friendly environment when using the Cut-to-Length.
  • International shapes have been added to 'CTL Set-up.' Users can also separate imperial and metric parts by simply checking a box.
  • Cut-to-Length now has 'CTL Tasks.' Similar to SigmaNEST tasks, users can add CTL parts created in a work order, create a linear nest and generate a report for the same.
  • The 'CTL Stock ' screen, similar to a SigmaNEST 'sheet list,' has been modified to list all available stock which can be filtered by material type and length.
