SigmaNEST® Version 10

1301PackagingWEBPowered by the industry’s most advanced nesting engine, SigmaNEST Version 10 represents a leap in material optimization and fabrication process efficiency. Advanced algorithms optimize part yield, maximize material usage, accelerate machine cycle time, and produce the highest quality parts. Version 10 will begin shipping in just a few weeks.

“Version 10 is the result of years of development and rigorous testing,” explained SigmaNEST Product Manager, James Lindsey. “The SigmaNEST community has been eager to get its hands on Version 10. And while we have been excited to make this newest release available, we’ve resisted the temptation to allow Version 10 out the door before it has met our quality standards. Over the past few months we have been busy testing and re-testing. As Product Manager my job is to ensure that all software releases are stable and robust. We are confident that with these steps SigmaNEST Version 10 users will hit the ground running. I am happy to say that we are just a few short weeks away from shipping.”

SolidCAD Integration

SigmaNEST® SolidCAD Integration products provide seamless transition from 3D models to NC code for all major profile cutting, punch, and press brake machines. Assemblies are automatically unfolded and parts sorted into jobs according to width and material type with bending allowances and corner details all taken into consideration. Powered by the industry’s leading CAD/CAM nesting software — the results are unparalleled speed, machine efficiency, and material utilization.

SigmaNEST provides a high level of integration with major CAD/CAM products. The import process is initiated from the SigmaNEST tool bar, and in most cases, transparently invokes the corresponding application in the background to perform necessary preprocessing of the model before it is placed directly on the SigmaNEST work space.

SigmaNEST interfaces support the following CAD systems:

  • Autodesk Inventor
  • CATIA
  • Pro/ENGINEER
  • Siemens NX & Solid Edge
  • SolidWorks
  • SpaceClaim
  • Think3

4 Questions 4: Dan Barr (VP of Sales)hr3Sidebar

DanBarr

1. What is your role at SigmaTEK?

Dan: As Vice President of Sales and Marketing I manage the SigmaTEK team of sales and marketing engineers and professionals — the industry’s largest North American staff. What is special about our team is their hands-on industry experience. Many on our sales and support staff have logged a number of years operating equipment on the shop floor. Not only are they experts on SigmaNEST software but they also understand the real world aspects of fabrication.

In 2012 we put regional sales teams into place. While each region is managed by a Regional Sales Manager, teams also include at least one Regional Sales Representative and Applications Engineer. This was done to become even more responsive to current and future customers on a local level. The feedback we’ve received from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive.

2. What are your impressions of manufacturing today?

Dan: The manufacturing industry in general has rebounded nicely from the depth of just a few short years ago. Manufacturers large and small continue to operate at full or near-full capacity. The key to their success is efficiency.

The leading companies have turned their attention to ways to maximize production and get the absolute most out of costly machines, optimize material usage, and automate and streamline supporting processes. All of this bodes well for SigmaNEST, as that’s exactly what we do.

3. Can you give an example of this?

Dan: Sure. We recently expanded our offerings to include SigmaMRP™. This fills an important niche for companies using SigmaNEST who are looking for an affordable yet powerful MRP system.

Another way we’re helping make our customers more efficient is with the release of SigmaNEST Version 10. When users get the chance to see the enhancements, I think they will agree that Version 10 is more revolutionary than evolutionary. We continue establishing strategic partnerships with cutting machine OEMs, software vendors, and resellers around the world and will soon have some important announcements in these areas.

4. What else can customers expect in 2013?

Dan: We are very excited about the coming year. Our regional teams will be sharing news and information relevant to the specific interests locally via webinars, special events, YouTube, e-mail, and Open House demonstrations with industry partners. This regional focus will help us stay connected with manufacturers and understand changing requirements. At SigmaTEK we understand that we have to move forward every day in order to maintain our leadership position. Scrutinizing all aspects of the SigmaNEST customer experience is a daily commitment as we strive to exceed expectations.
