In the July edition of SigmaNEWS the advantages and uses of Tool Sorting were detailed. The software determines the best tool selection by calculating the cutting data in light of user-defined priority coefficients applied to job criteria such as maximum tool life and minimum overall cutting time.

The Tool Sorting feature has been proven effective for those with pure punch, combination, or drilling capable machines. The developers at SigmaTEK have now introduced the enhanced ability to include the different profiling family of processes when sequencing parts, thus allowing tools beyond punching and drilling to be recognized within Tool Sorting. SigmaNEST can then sort the NC sequence of each process automatically or manually determined by the user's preference. The feature is easy to use and will save both time and resources.
