Albert is SigmaTEK’s Manager of International Sales and is responsible for ensuring SigmaNEST’s expansion into emerging markets. Albert is currently on his way to China and then India, but we were able to catch up with him before he left.
1. Can you tell us about the International Group and the areas where you are currently focusing?
Otto: Right now we are focusing on emerging fabrication markets. We are seeing many opportunities for growth and it is the international group's job to make sure that SigmaNEST is available worldwide. We are keeping an eye on the future as we do this and are always looking to expand the SigmaNEST brand. While we have a worldwide network of dealers, the international group works to ensure that countries that are really growing and taking off have dedicated SigmaTEK employees in their region. We are currently in China, India, Brazil and Vietnam. Manufacturing is very inexpensive in Vietnam and many Chinese companies and multinational companies that were manufacturing in China are moving their operations to Vietnam. We've seen a lot of interest in SigmaNEST and are excited by the growth potential Vietnam offers.
2. Speaking of China, how are things going there?
Otto: China is a great market for us. With its vast number of manufacturing facilities we have seen our office in China grow from five to fifteen employees, and we are currently working to build a nine-member dedicated sales team. We have one central office in China, but are in the process of expanding across the provinces through a network of satellite offices to help keep us closer to SigmaNEST users. There is a high demand for shipbuilding in China and these companies are demanding SigmaNEST. We are in a rapid period of growth and are beginning to see that growth across all of our emerging markets.
3. You've just hired a new General Manager in India, Tushar Takawale. Tell us about the Indian market and what Tushar will be focusing on.
Otto: Tushar is going to be a great asset to our team. We are excited to be able to utilize his extensive knowledge and connections in India. India, much like China and other emerging markets, is in a period of extensive growth. Tushar has been tasked with building our team in India and helping SigmaNEST expand beyond our offices in Pune and out to the rest of the provinces. To do this, we will be hiring more team members in India. Tushar will be instrumental in helping us build a larger team to meet the high level of demand for SigmaNEST that we are seeing in India.
4. You mentioned Brazil was one of SigmaNEST's emerging markets. Can you tell us more about Brazil and what is happening there?
Otto: Brazil is a great market for us. We are currently seeing a lot of SigmaNEST growth and have recently hired Kevin Ramirez as a Regional Sales Manager for Brazil. Kevin is doing a fantastic job and is helping ensure that SigmaNEST continues to be the industry leader. We also have two great dealers, Oxipira and Newgraph, with whom we work closely. These steps ensure that our customers and prospects alike are getting the best experience from working with SigmaNEST .
