Job Description

SigmaTEK is looking to add a talented software Applications Engineer to support its regional sales team. This person will be responsible for providing a high level of technical support to SigmaTEK customers and prospects while assisting the regional sales team in closing new business.  Services will be provided in-person, online, and on the phone in the form of software demos, training, installation, and other technical sales support. The Applications Engineer must be customer focused, posses a team mentality, and recognize the need to deliver results quickly and efficiently. This position offers many opportunities for traveling and spending time on-site with customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide regional technical sales support needs via software demonstrations and technical needs analysis
• Deliver technical support and customer service to end-users by processing highly technical support needs and communicating solutions via in-person meetings, telephone, e-mail, and the Internet
• Be the "go to" expert to handle technical questions from regional customers, prospects and sales team members
• Train customers on our software at one of our in-house training facilities or over the Internet
• Write technical specifications to meet local and enterprise-level opportunities
• Periodic on-site installation of our software and the ability to seamlessly integrate product into various avenues of technical manufacturing systems
• Travel regularly throughout assigned territory, plus occasional travel to SigmaTEK headquarters and major tradeshows

Requirements

• Mechanical and/or manufacturing engineering experience with a focus in CAD/CAM, sheet metal fabrication or steel plate processing, and CNC programming (familiarity with G-code)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Capable of working independently and as a key member of a team
• Meeting multiple deadlines while maintaining enthusiastic, positive attitude
• Strong problem solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows

Preferred

• A bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Industrial)
• SQL database experience
• Valid passport for international travel
