What's New in SigmaNEST Version 8.0
Part Parameters
Customer field drop-down list
Some fields now include a drop-down list that records frequently used values. For example, the Customer field records frequently used customer names. These can be selected instead of having to retype the customer's name each time. This improves both the speed and accuracy of entry. Other fields, on the part parameters dialog, that can be entered in this way are the absolute and incremental angles.
Additional part data fields
Ten additional part data fields have been added to the part parameters dialog. These are text fields that can be used to associate any custom data with part. The data is saved with the part.
Increased part parameter field length
The length of most of the part text fields has increased to accommodate the ever increasing demand for more data and longer names.
Fixed Lead-ins
If a lead-in is set to Fixed it does not move when the part is placed on the nesting layout. A lead-in can be fixed by manually changing its position in part mode. This reduces the number of subroutines that are created for a nesting layout, because parts at different rotations still have the same lead-in positions.
The status of the lead-in positions on the part is displayed. There are buttons to change the status of all the lead-in positions on the part.
Part markup percentage
In addition to the “part cost factor”, a new part "Markup %" field has been added. The markup percentage can vary, depending to the part quantity. Select the setup button (…) next to the markup percentage field to load the preset markup percentages or enter new values for the part. If the part quantity changes the corresponding new markup percentage is used to calculate the part's unit price.
The unit cost is defined as : UnitCost = (PartCost * CostFactor) + OtherCost
The unit price is defined as: UnitPrice = UnitCost + (UnitCost * Markup_% * 0.01)
Part Mirroring options
An additional option has been added to the part mirroring field. The options are now:
- Not Allowed : No mirroring of the part is allowed in manual or automatic nesting mode.
- Not Auto : Automatic nesting is not permitted to mirror the part, but it can be manually mirrored during manual nesting.
- Allowed : Mirroring is allowed during manual and automatic nesting.
