Complete Manual Nesting

Manual nesting is used to make changes to an automatic nest or to nest interactively.

  • Dynamic dragging and dropping of parts onto single or multiple sheets.
  • Bump mode to maintain clearance (including around lead-in).
  • Automatic or manual rotation and alignment.
  • Grid Nesting.
  • Redefinition of lead-in and lead-out encompasses special parametric lead-in and the repositioning of automatically assigned lead-in.
  • Check for part interference. Highlights all parts on the sheet that overlap or otherwise interfere with the cutting of another part.
  • Automatic update of all similar parts when changing part geometry.

Examples

Center in Part

In the following illustration, part 2 is a circle and part 1 is a polygon with a circular opening inside. To move part 2 into the center of the circle in part 1, select Entity Center and select part 2. Select the Position option and then choose Center in the menu and click on part 1. Part 2 is moved to the center of part 1.

Part 2 is centered in part 1

Grid Nest

This function nests the chosen part in a horizontal and vertical array. It nests the remaining "number to nest" parts. The initial part begins the array in the lower, left corner.
