Solid Edge is a high end mechanical engineering design system offering parametric solid modeling. The system offers powerful design functionality but has limited functionality when it comes to automatic nesting and CNC post processing for laser, plasma, and water jet cutters.

SigmaNEST dovetails with Solid Edge to offer the best solution for plate material and sheet metal utilization. Parts created in Solid Edge that are required to be produced on profile cutting equipment are transferred directly to SigmaNEST for nesting and NC programming.

3D sheet metal parts in Solid Edge are unfolded to flat patterns before transferring the profile to SigmaNEST.

It is possible to customize Solid Edge in order to automatically transfer batches of parts from Solid Edge to SigmaNEST. SigmaNEST can process the parts by means of its batch processing function. Nesting and NC programming the parts becomes effortless but ensures optimal material yield and test.
