CATIA Interface

SigmaNEST supports geometry data transfer from the CATIA CAD/CAM system including NURBS and high order B-splines. Aerospace and automotive parts designed in 3D model space are unfolded and transferred to SigmaNEST. SigmaNEST interpolates spline functions using lines and arc composite curves. This geometry representation is in turn compatible with the cutting machine process. (CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters and routers, typically support linear and circular motion only. That is why spline geometry is interpolated by line-arc composite curves.)

SigmaNEST offers the most effective solution for profile cut part nesting and optimized cutting for CATIA users. Due to the high accuracy of SigmaNEST, geometry parts are produced accurately and within tolerance of the cutting machine's capabilities.
