Laser Improvements: V8 Power

May 17, 2007 - SigmaTEK Systems is the creator of the industry’s leading automatic nesting and NC programming software called SigmaNEST. Each year, enhancements and improvements are developed based on industry standards and customer requests. With the release of the Vista compatible Version 8, SigmaNEST can boast many improvements for use with laser machines.

Common line cutting is a feature frequently used by laser operators in order to cut down on machine time while cutting nested parts. Now a programmer can easily decrease machine time by selecting a button to activate the automatic common line nesting feature. In addition, for programmers in a multi-machine shop, typical machine settings can be defaulted for each machine used allowing the machine-dependent defaults to be filtered into the appropriate fields with a click of a button. The ability to post to multiple machines at the same time now exists decreasing the programming time needed.

The advanced NC feature, bridge cutting, has been improved by adding automatic bridge by lead-in capability, giving more control over the pierce position on a sheet. Programmers can also freeze the height on bridge cut entities. When remnants are involved, users are able to now select the direction of the crop cut.

These added features allow for more control and better machine utilization yielding more benefits to each user. SigmaNEST is also used for Plasma, Oxyfuel, Waterjet, Punch, Punch Combination, and Router machines.
