SigmaTEK Surfaces at SolidWorks World 2007
February 8, 2007 - SigmaNEST, USA’s leading 2D CAD/CAM nesting software was proudly demonstrated at the recent SolidWorks World 2007 conference in New Orleans.
Over 3000 delegates were treated to various hands-on technical labs and the largest partner pavilion yet. SigmaNEST’s latest contour and punch applications were the focus of many interested users both domestically and internationally. One of the highlights was SigmaTEK’s Gold Partner product, SolidNEST which was reported as being "light years ahead." Its truly seamless integration with SolidWorks is one of many strengths of SigmaNEST showcased at the event.
The successful event was highlighted by the opportunity to contribute to the rebuilding of the hurricane devastation in New Orleans.
SigmaTEK's First Showing in Mexico
March 13, 2007 - The 12th edition of TECMA, the largest show in Mexico City organized by the Mexican Association of Machinery Distributors, was held March 6th - 9th. SigmaTEK proudly partook in our first exhibit at this show held every other year. Jose Roderiguez and Rick Richardson, both Regional Sales Managers represented SigmaTEK with Alberto Guzman and Alan Maldonado, representatives from Pro Corte Mecanizado, a SigmaNEST dealer in Mexico.
As sources may indicate, the market in Mexico is on the rise. The Regional Sales Manager for the area, Jose Roderiguez stated, "SigmaTEK has had a presence in Mexico for a long time. It is good to see the continuing support from the area for our product, the industry, and for TECMA." Participants at the show were able to see demonstrations of the latest version of SigmaNEST and learn about our part in optimizing and automating processes on the shop floor. Many thanks to those who came by the booth.
SigmaNEST Provides Solid Solutions
April 1, 2007 - SigmaTEK Systems recently exhibited at WESTEC 2007, March 26-29, 2007. Members of our Sales and Engineering teams participated to provide solid information, technology, and connections to the west coast manufacturing industry.
This event was one of many showcases of SigmaNEST Version 8.0 on Windows Vista in 2007. Companies will stay on the leading edge of technology with V8 power by improving machine efficiency, increasing material savings, and providing a more customizable atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth in Los Angeles. Keep watch for SigmaNEST’s next showing at FABTECH 2007 in Chicago, at booth 12014.
Composites On The Rise
April 9, 2007 - The JEC Composites Show in Paris closed April 5th, 2007, with more than 27,000 recorded visitors. The increase in visitors can be related to the huge boom going through the composite industry. Each year, composites find their way into hundreds of new applications, from golf clubs and tennis rackets, to jet skis, aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, and cars. The list is endless.
A composite part is made up of several layers called Plies. These normally have to be nested with different grain constraints which helps give the part its strength. With this in mind, composite companies are cutting thousands of parts a day going through rolls of material. Normally there will be a Work Order system having the next few weeks’ worth of production preplanned out. As one can imagine, any nesting software that has the ability to manage Work Orders with the added bonus of being able to nest parts without time restrictions thus producing the most optimal nest possible, will in turn minimize material waste and increase savings in both material and time.
Many of the larger OEMs who are in the Textile industry have recognized the growth in the composite market and are increasing the technology needed on the machines to support it. By switching from static beds to conveyorized machines, OEMs are making a concerted effort to infiltrate this market. As a software OEM, SigmaNEST is one of only a few companies that offer composite nesting capabilities.
